Signage AKA How to market your internet skills to passersby

Benjamin has asked me to take on a new project regarding the face of The Barbarian Group NYC. I have been asked to create a series of appropriate and professional signs for the front door of the building, so as to lure in new business from the streets of Manhattan. Here is day 1 of my very official task. I hope I don’t let the team down. Future submissions are more than welcome. Thank you!

Questionnaire Extraordinaire: Mayoral Edition

In this, our second installment of Questionnaire Extraordinaire, we interview the newly inaugurated Barbarian Mayor, Nick Bonadies! Not only is Nick the reigning mayor of The Barbarian Group but he is also our IT Hero in the Boston office. For those of you who missed the first installment, let me refresh, I am conducting a Proust-like interview with as many Barbarians as I can get my hands on. The rules are: no NDA breaking, no boring stuff, and if things too vulgar I have to censor it. Also, it is perfectly legitimate for me to edit the interview so I may come across more intelligent and thoughtful than in the original interview. Deal with it. Now, let’s learn some new and exciting things about Nick Bonadies, IT hero.

For clarification, my questions and comments are bold and italic.

Questionnaire Extraordinaire: The Barbarian Proust Interview

Starting today, I will be posting a series of Proust-style interviews with various Barbarians. The interview, 20 questions plus a bonus question, takes place over IM at work and may be edited for extreme vulgarity and boring content. It’s my hope that we all learn a little bit more about the people that make The Barbarian Group so awesome. For clarification: my responses/ notes are in bold italics.

For the first ever installment of the Questionnaire Extraordinaire we interview Barbarian developer, Alex Bisceglie, and learn many new and obscure things. Let’s begin!

In honor of Kevin Chan, our fearless Formal Friday leader!

Kevin Chan is off dashing through the snow somewhere in Canadialand and we here at The Barbarian Group NYC miss him terribly. Nemo, our fantastic intern, was truly carrying the formal( and patriotic!!! USA!) torch in Kevin’s absence. Way to be an inspiration to us all! In addition to looking fly we decided to feature just a fraction of our holiday liquor selection. Yum! Yum! Per usual, hand sanitizer was there to keep thing bacteria-free. Have a fabulous and formal Friday!

Is anyone man enough to do this with me?

When I was in college I would have never imagined that I would be working for an advertising agency in New York City. In fact, if I went back in time and told my college self this fact I probably would have killed myself or dropped out of school and joined the peace corp like I always talked about. Another thing that would have had me grabbing the razor or going to live with the Bushmen in Tanzania is this….
