A Day in the Life of TBG Client Service

Have you ever wondered what goes on behind the glass window of my shanty. Following is a minute-by-minute update of my work day on April 15, 2008.
9:00 – Drop my daughter off at daycare and walk to the office
9:13 – Stop at the local Dunkin’ Donuts and get a coffee. It is get a free donut for Tax Day today so I grab a donut too. Yay sugar!

9:25 – start work on updating a copy deck based on legal comments from client
9:48 – finished updating the deck. logged the ticket in Trac and added a card to Mingle so that the dev team knows what to work on. Filed the deck on the server.

10:03 – la toilet
10:07 – sent an email to the ideas list soliciting information for a banner we are working on for Kashi.
10:08 – looking through all Kashi product assets to determine if we have holes in our imagery
10:30 – chatted with Steph Zand
10:32 – back to the assets project
10:38 – Talk to my mom

12:10 – impromptu chat with Erin about Kashi IA
12:18 – watched a YouTube link sent by a friend
12:22 – really frustrated cause I can’t find an FTP that will work for this file, need to get a producer to post it. God I just wasted 20 minutes.
12:30 – meeting about Kashi copywriter and helping to manage her workload
12:52 – la toilet
12:54 – crap I forgot I have a really long conference call at 1, grabbing my sandwich to eat at my desk

1:00 – dial into my conference call
1:20 – doing some multi-tasking while on the call
1:40 – starting to get a stiff neck, maybe I should consider a headset
2:00 – when on calls like this I zone out at times and completely miss huge chunks of the conversation. it is tough listening to a long call when only 5% of it pertains to your role.
2:15 – going to check my Google Reader for updates while on this call
2:16 – I wish I had a “widget” that would allow me to toggle between my google accounts so that I am not constantly signing in and out to my different accounts
2:23 – client used the term “straw man” and it gave me an idea for the Barbarian Wiki – Client-isms
2:31 – wow, long call and I think I only said one word and that was my name in the very beginning
2:32 – need some fresh air
2:43 – just got back from the Method pop-up shop. great execution!
2:49 – alright time to hunker down and do some work

3:02 – editing creative comment document for Getty
3:26 – cleaning up inbox
3:36 – we just launched a major project for Kashi so I am going to start a postmortem doc while it is fresh in everyone’s mind
4:00 – went to Kate’s office to dial in for our Client Service status meeting but it looks like there are too many conflicts today. This is generally the case with client service status.
4:11 – la toilet
4:13 – cleaning up inbox and desktop
4:31 – got my inbox down to 24 emails. this makes me feel clean and happy
4:35 – listen to the new Death Cab
4:36 – Making some wiki updates
5:04 – reviewing a new build of Kashi.com on Pong, into the studio to test on a pc
5:23 – gave the team the OK to release the build to production
5:24 – I have checked off all items on my to do list, wow this feels good. I think I will go play worms and then leave to go home at 6. Before I do I will finish up this post and put it on the site
5:26 – figuring out the Barbarian Blog and how to post
5:30 – post
5:35 – Play worms
6:00 – head to the T to go home

You could open one account in Safari and the other in Firefox, then just tab between the browsers.

Here's a script based on the Firefox Add-on called "Greasemonkey" (weird name, but awesome plugin) that will do exactly as you wish:
