Barbaric Sports
A bunch of the Bostonites and I enjoyed the last hours of the sun yesterday by playing Wiffle Ball underneath Storrow. Nick knocked one of our balls right onto the freeway, causing multiple cars to swerve and come to a sudden screeching halt. Resulting in a massive pile up that forced people to return to their respective homes 4 hours late. It was a mess!
Just kidding. That didn’t happen, but it would have been pretty incredible if it did.
Anyway, as the weather continues to get warmer and the sun continues to shine just a little longer, I encourage all Barbarians to step outside and engage in some fun field activities (DOUG P.). Your eyes and pale skin will thank you for it (DOUG P.). It was a lovely time, even though I couldn’t hit the ball and there was a dead rabbit nearby. But who cares!
For those in NY, my friends and I play a really casual game of soccer every Sunday on the upper west side. Yes, I know, it’s a little far, but it’s worth it. Nothing beats running around on astroturf. You’re more than welcome to join if you’re ever in the mood to kick around a ball. Ball kicking is fun!
