HBO Interactive Film
We launched something really special.
It’s a new joint project with TBG+BBDO for HBO. We’ve been working with BBDO for almost a year on this, and collaborated with them on everything from the initial concepts to the web, outdoor, and story experiences. It’s been an amazingly rewarding project. Please enjoy…
Ok so what is it?
It is a 2-part experience – first up is a gigantic 4-sided film experience that will be displayed in NYC, DC, and Philly:
September 17-19 NYC (Gansevoort and Little West 12th)
October 1-3 in Philadelphia (Old City District)
October 8-10 in Washington D.C. (Plaza at Adams Morgan)
October 1-3 in Philadelphia (Old City District)
October 8-10 in Washington D.C. (Plaza at Adams Morgan)
On these gigantic 4-sided displays there are 2 different short films playing, directed by Noam Murro, and each film is the same scene from 4 different angles, but each angle tells a different aspect of the story. It is remarkably interesting to walk around it and pick out the details and synchronicities that make this film work.
Next up is our main part of the production, the online experience. I don’t want to spoil too much of it because it will ruin it. HOWEVER, I can safely say that you’ve not seen an interactive film done on this scale before. It’s deep, and lovingly produced, and basically is a story told with the network replacing time as the narrative convention.

Check it out, it’s some new new shit.
A big shout out to the gang at BBDO, this has been a pure pleasure from start to finish, and congrats to all of the talented Barbarians who made this possible.
