PHP

Um.. Rick Doesn’t know anything about PHP. Hopefully Toby will answer that email and write me something about PHP. But in the meantime, let’s cheat and take something from the back of Toby’s book he wrote on PHP!
PHP is a scripting language used primarily on Web Servers running the Apache HTTP server software. While uses for PHP are many, the core functionality is to provide a language and framework for the development of Web applications. As of November 2005, the reported usage of PHP was at nearly 18 million domains. Combined with Linux, the Apache HTTP server and the MySQL dtabase, PHP provides functionality to the great portion of the servers on the World Wide Web.
Personally, if I were his editor I’d take offense at the “to the great portion of the servers” without, say, saying if it was a majority or what. But hey, that’s just me.

Here are some recent posts from our employees about PHP:

learning new stuff

Back in 2000 when I was first learning PHP, I came up with a project for myself. I had been writing down my dreams since I was a kid, and I thought it’d be kinda neat to see what sort of themes emerged from them over time.

Words, words, words...

N.B. This post was from the last version of our site

We’re coming very close to finishing some awesome projects. Phase one of one of them actually launched already, but we want to spruce it up a little bit before we send it out. So we thought we’d take this opportunity to let you know that Toby wrote a book on PHP. That’s some serious nerd cred, right there. Ben, for his part, kept spewing forth pithy words of wisdom on the state of interactive advertising.
